DOWNPOUR DOESN'T DAMPEN WSTU ST. PATTY'S DAY ENTHUSIASM -- WSTU Digital 1450 celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a special remote broadcast of the popular "Ed Killer Fish Stories Show" on Thursday evening from Carmody's Irish Pub and Tavern on East Ocean Boulevard in Stuart.

WSTU Digital 1450 presented the Martin County Historical Society with recordings of the live coverage of the two hurricanes that sliced directly into Martin County near Hobe Sound last fall. The Martin County Commission honored WSTU Digital 1450 on the 50th Anniversary of broadcasting as Martin County's first radio station in ceremonies at the opening of the County Commission meeting in Stuart Tuesday, Mar. 8. Station owners and local residents Carol and Greg Wyatt accepted the county's official proclaimation from County Commission Chairman Lee Weberman, who praised the station's public service through its five decades of local service. The first "vehicle" to officially cross the new Frank A. Wacha Memorial Bridge leaving from the Jensen Beach side and headed east to Hutchinson Island was this vintage vehicle which led the parade that followed the dedication ceremonies Saturday, March 3.
